Barbed
|
Terminal or lateral retrorse projections on a structure, each projection being a barb, cf. glochidiate; barbellae, short, straight, stiff hairs or barbs, adj. barbellate.

A leaf, usually different in form from the foliage leaves, subtending a flower, quite often called a floral bract, cf. bracteole, inflorescence bract.
